My teaching philosophy, for either the beginner or advanced player, is based on learning songs. I believe you retain only the theory that you use. So, my goal is to help you to play the music that you love as soon as possible.
Also, I have found that many guitar players experience unnecessary amounts of pain because they use excessive force to compensate for bad physical technique. I therefore stress correct posture and balanced ergonomic technique in order to minimize the chance of developing a repetitive motion injury.
I charge $50 per hour if you come to me, or $65 an hour if I come to you. Often, if expense is a concern, students can choose to not have a lesson every week. In those cases I can gear the volume of material to be sufficient for several weeks of study.
